Streaming startup DLive has released a mobile version of the service for broadcasts for Android. DLive uses the technology of the Steem blockchain platform, created to encourage content authors on social networks using cryptocurrency.
DLive appeared six months ago, and by now the monthly audience of the service exceeds 500 thousand people. During the work, viewers on DLive transferred about $2.6 million in cryptocurrency to streamers.
The platform is designed in such a way that content creators receive Steem tokens when viewers vote for their broadcasts. In addition, fans can directly transfer the donation to the authors they like. Viewers can also earn tokens by voting for videos, leaving useful comments and inviting friends to DLive.
According to DLive CEO Charles Wayne, unlike major streaming services like Twitch or Mixer, his platform offers viewers and broadcast authors freedom from aggressively promoted content and a chance to find their audience, which is difficult to do on more hyped sites due to the great competition.
