The Discord game chat service verified a number of servers as official communication channels for game developers and gamers.
Discord explained this by the importance of direct communication between game creators and the gaming community, on which the success of each title directly depends.
“The main thing is that now the player can find out news about his favorite game from the first—hand of its authors, and not through information or fan resources,” said Andy Swanson, head of public relations at Discord.
The sign of confirmation was received by more than 100 developer channels, including the creators of Minecraft studio Mojang, developers of the tactical shooter Squad studio Offworld Industries, authors of mobile hits Supercell, and others.
Any developer can verify their channel on Discord. To do this, you need to provide the service administration with proof of the authorship of the game.
