The audience of the Discord game chat application has reached 45 million users in 2 years of existence.
According to statistics, the daily audience of Discord is 8.9 million people, and up to 4 million users communicate in the application at the same time. They send about 200 million messages a day, and this figure reaches 6 billion in a month.
Monthly Discord voice chat traffic is about 15 petabytes (15,340 terabytes). In 2016, users sent 4 petabytes of audio messages per month.
The head and founder of Discord, Jason Citron, explained the success of the startup by the ease of using the service — Discord does not require installation and works from a browser.
