Players who pre-ordered Metro Exodus on Steam will not be able to download the game before its release. This was announced on the Steam forum by the user Damis.
He asked Deep Silver technical support if there would be a pre-download of the game on Steam. He was not pleased with the answer.
“Since we expect most of the traffic from Epic Games Store users, there probably won’t be a pre-download of the game from Steam. We apologize for the inconvenience caused,” the technical support said.
At the same time, despite the words about traffic from the Epic Games Store, there is also no preload function in this store. Rather, it is in test mode.
The sudden transition of Metro Exodus to the Epic Games Store has angered a lot of users. The game was called upon to boycott, then download from pirated resources. Nevertheless, the news about the transfer of the title to another store provoked a buying boom in Steam. Metro Exodus managed to become a sales leader in it before disappearing from the Valve store.
The game will be released on February 15.
