The German company Crytek is exploring the mobile free-to-play market. Together with the Japanese giant DeNA, the authors of Crysis are launching The Collectables project.

The game combines action and tactics. Gamers will be at the head of a military unit that performs tasks in remote corners of the world. The project is being developed for iOS and Android. The premiere will take place in 2014. They are going to distribute the game through the Mobage mobile platform.

Crytek company is engaged in large AAA projects, the most famous of which is the Crysis series. The studio produces games for PC and consoles. Her last hit was the ancient Roman action movie Ryse for Xbox One. The Kiev division of the studio has successfully released the Warface F2P project, which is due to be released on Xbox 360 next year.

The Collectables will be a step into new territory for the company. That is why it was so important for Crytek to enlist the support of DeNA, who has extensive experience in the field of mobile entertainment. The novelty is based on the CryEngine three-dimensional engine.

This is not the first time Crytek has tried to break into the mobile market. In April 2012, the studio released the cartoon puzzle Fibble for iOS and Kindle Fire.
