The British developer and publisher of video games Codemasters officially goes on the stock exchange this week. According to preliminary estimates, the market value of the creators of the DiRT and GRID racing franchises was £280 million ($373 million).

Codemasters will conduct an initial public offering on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, which is intended for small and developing companies.

With the help of the IPO, the company expects to raise about £ 15 million ($ 20 million), in order to then invest these funds in the development of titles for mobile platforms.

“We believe that racing games will remain an important part of the gaming market, and entering the AIM exchange will give us the opportunity to create new racing titles of first—class quality,” said Frank Sagnier, CEO of Codemasters.

Codemasters is one of the oldest gaming firms in the UK, founded in 1986. Currently, a controlling stake belongs to the Indian Reliance Entertainment, part of the Reliance Group holding.

Note that Codemasters has become the second British gaming company to announce its entry into the stock market recently. At the beginning of this month, the creators of the Worms series from Team17 announced preparations for the IPO.
