The Russian video game publisher, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2019, has begun expansion into foreign markets. Buka has announced that it will distribute domestic projects abroad.

9 Monkeys of Shaolin
Entering the world market and “reviving full-fledged publishing activities,” according to representatives of Buki, became possible thanks to the conclusion of a partnership with Koch Media.

However, there are few details about the format of cooperation yet.

The press release hints that the partnership opens up wide opportunities for those Russian teams that work with Buka. The latter “can now safely count on the successful launch and sale of their products in Europe and the USA — on all relevant gaming platforms.”

The deal between Buka and Koch Media implies the release of projects published by the Russian publisher into retail through the channels of the German media company, which also successfully distributes physical versions of its publishing label Deep Silver in retail.

The first projects to be published within the framework of cooperation on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC will be:

  • Redeemer: Enhanced Edition
  • Ash of Gods
  • 9 Monkeys of Shaolin

The first two projects were previously published in numbers (Buka did not act as their publisher at that time). Despite the good reviews in the press and the high quality of the production, both games sold a small circulation (up to 100 thousand copies).
