Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will leave his post within the next 12 months.
The official resignation will take place after a successor is selected for him. Until then, Ballmer will continue to transform Microsoft into a company engaged in the production of devices and services.
The process of finding a new candidate is led by a special committee, which also includes Bill Gates.
By the way, immediately after the announcement of Ballmer’s imminent departure, Microsoft shares jumped by 8%.
