App Annie analytical platform has published game download and sales charts for September. Among the world leaders are Honor of Kings, Subway Surfers and Lineage M.

App Store Download Leaders

The world’s top iOS games have changed a lot since August.

There was a castling of some minimalistic titles to others (the place of the stylish Flippy Knife and Dancing Line was taken by a slightly more complex Flip Master and Football Strike).

Football Strike

Minecraft Pocket Edition also broke into the top for the first time. Its appearance in the leaders in downloads is explained by the release of the free version for China.

Also in 4th place was Homescapes from Playrix. The project, developed by Russian developers, apparently received a very significant marketing push.

Despite the changes, Honor of Kings remains the world leader in iOS installations, which has not yet been released in Western markets.

Google Play Download Leaders

Changes on Android are less noticeable. There are fewer new games in the top. These are the already mentioned Flip Master from Miniclip, owned today by Tencent, and Homescapes, the stellar release of Playrix, in which its creators believe very much.

The top downloads on Android is headed by Subway Surfers, officially one of the most downloaded games ever released on Google Play.

App Store Revenue Leaders

From the point of view of the Russian consumer, from month to month, the situation in the global box office top of iOS games is getting more boring. Most of the titles presented here are Asian MMOs, whose access to other markets is often questionable.

The only well-known names are Candy Crush Saga and Clash Royale.

The undisputed leader in box office figures has been Honor of Kings for several months in a row (it was assumed that it would be released in Western markets as Strike of Kings, but then officially changed its name to Arena of Valor). It is unclear how much she earns per month, but according to Vedomosti, in January – March she could bring the developer $876 million.

Revenue Leaders on Google Play

The state of affairs in the world’s top box office on the official Android marketplace is noticeably different from the situation in the App Store. This is partly due to the fact that Google Play does not officially work in China. So the Celestial market with its fantastic profits does not cover the entire top.

But instead, top positions are taken by titles that earn cash in South Korea and Japan. For example, thanks to revenues exclusively from the native market, isometric Lineage M is the highest-grossing game in the world on Google Play. Recall that in the first month alone, she collected $ 223 million.
