Rovio has announced its plans to move Angry Birds Friends from Facebook to the iOS and Android mobile platforms.
Angry Birds Friends are, in principle, the same birds that we have on tablets and smartphones. The key difference is social functions. It is possible to invite friends to the game, give them gifts, customize the profile picture, “show off” your achievements on the page. Daily bonuses and weekly tournaments are provided.
Probably, by releasing the project, Rovio expects to increase the involvement of players and, with it, monetization.
The peak MAU of Angry Birds Friends (24.1 million) was observed after the launch in May 2012. The game is currently ranked 38th on Facebook by MAU with 10.8 million players.
The release date of Angry Birds Friends is not yet known.
