Amazon is going to launch a virtual currency on the Kindle Fire line of devices this May, for which it will be possible to purchase applications and content inside them in the Amazon Appstore.

Virtual currency is available on Facebook and a number of small mobile markets. Amazon’s decision to follow in their footsteps is most likely due to the company’s desire to monopolize users who resort to both Google Play and Amazon Appstore services. Now the user will not choose where to buy the application that interests him, rush between the markets. He is very likely to spend money where it has already been spent.

This innovation also promises to increase the revenue of developers and the market itself. Psychologically, users spend virtual currency faster, with less stress than real money. This is largely due to the very opposition in the mind of “virtual currency – real money”.

Considering that by May Amazon is also going to distribute $ 10 million in virtual currency to users, it is clear that the company, by integrating a new, in fact, service, also plans to include new users in commodity-money relations on its tablets and increase the already high conversion rate.

To introduce virtual currency into projects, developers whose applications are already in the Amazon Appstore do not need to do anything. Those who are just going to publish an application and want to introduce a virtual currency into it before the summer, need to have time to pass the appruv before April 25. The virtual currency will be valid only in the United States for the time being. The rate is $2.99 for 299 units.
