Without undue fuss, at the end of last week, Amazon opened its app store in China, where both free and paid applications are available to users.
Recall that the Kindle Store with e-books and applications for reading them has been operating in China since December last year.
Amazon has become the first Western company offering a platform for selling paid applications to Chinese residents, because there are only free programs in the assortment of the local Google Play.
The Amazon store will have to compete with a lot of local stores selling both paid and free Android applications, some of which are pirated and often contain malware.
