Amazon came up with an interesting strategy to expand the library of games in its own app store: the company began making “cold calls” to successful developers of projects for Google Play.
This was reported today PocketGamer.biz with reference to “reliable sources”.
By “cold calls” here we mean letters to a number of studios from Amazon with an offer of cooperation.
“We are interested in working together, which will benefit you, because we can help provide the project with a feature (in the original – exposure, approx.editors) and help you with getting new users,” the letters say.
“It will be easy for you to transfer your content to the Appstore,” Amazon employees add.
This step fully fits into the expansion of the American company, which last year not only entered a number of new markets for itself, but also launched its own virtual currency, opened its store to HTML5 applications and allowed them to put large price tags on them.
It is also known as a manufacturer of e-books and tablets under the Kindle Fire brand, running on an Android assembly of its own design. According to one of the latest studies by IDC and App Annie, the Kindle Fire is the most popular Android tablet in the USA.
