Torn Banner Studios has removed the online action movie Mirage: Arcane Warfare from Steam and announced the imminent shutdown of game servers. The developers explained the closure with the entry into force of the European data protection law — GDPR, but even before it, the Torn Banner project was far from flourishing.
In addition to problems with GDPR, Mirage: Arcane Warfare had problems with the audience — almost no one played it. According to SteamDB, since the beginning of this year, the daily attendance of the title on Steam has not risen above 100 people per day.
Mirage: Arcane Warfare has become the third multiplayer project that is being closed due to GDPR. Earlier, due to the new European law, MOBA Super MNC studios of Uber Entertainment and the action movie Loadout of Edge of Reality went offline forever.
The creators of both projects explained that bringing the games into full compliance with the requirements of the European regulations is beyond their means, as it requires a significant increase in server maintenance costs.
