Sales of the MMO shooter Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) on Steam exceeded 8 million copies in less than six months since the release of the game in early access.

This was announced by the creator of the original concept of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, Brendan Greene. Green works as a creative director at the South Korean studio Bluhole, engaged in the development and support of PUBG.

He also confirmed that Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds will be released on Xbox One this fall as part of the Xbox Preview program, which allows you to play projects under development. This was first reported at E3 by representatives of Microsoft.

Recall that Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds was released in early access on March 23, 2017 and in less than six months of existence has become one of the most popular games in the world.

In early August, PUBG was ahead of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in terms of the number of online players on Steam. From the top of the rating of the most visited Steam games, the game is separated by one line belonging to Dota 2.
