The popularity of the shooter Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) beats the performance of competitors. Among those players who stopped playing Overwatch in July, 25% play Battlegrounds.

This is reported by Newzoo with reference to the data of the Overwolf service, covering 12 million hardcore PC players.

Overwatch has an outflow rate (it is interpreted by Newzoo as the proportion of users who have consistently played a particular title for at least two months, and then stopped, but at the same time continuing to play something else) in PUBG varies greatly from region to region. For example, in Japan it was 54.7%.

PUBG’s success didn’t just hit Overwatch. The outflow rate from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in Battlegrounds was 21.1% in the world, and 31.9% in the USA. The outflow from Minecraft was 14.2%, and from World of Warcraft – as much as 19.6%.

On the chart of the dynamics of the popularity of top PC games for March-July, you can also see a drop in the share of Overwatch players against the background of PUBG growth.
