Premium mobile games rarely achieve the same success as free—to-play titles, but the Monument Valley franchise of Ustwo studio is an exception to the rule. The revenues of the second part of the mobile puzzle in the first year after the release exceeded $10.4 million — twice as much as the first Monument Valley generated in the same period.
This was announced by the head of Ustwo Dan Gray in a publication posted on the blog platform Medium.
The maximum income for 1 day of Monument Valley 2 was $728 thousand. The game has more than 3 times recouped Ustwo’s expenses for creation and promotion. The studio spent $2.26 million on development and $516 thousand on marketing.
