Over the past year, the number of downloads of the paid Monument Valley adventure game from ustwo has increased 10 times.
By the beginning of 2015, the number of downloads of the project on iOS, Android and Amazon was 2.4 million, and by the end of the year – already 24 million. Of these, 7 million brought promotions: at the end of the year, the game was distributed in stores for free. Most of the downloads are from the App Store, where the game was included in the Free App of the Week compilation. At the same time, about one in ten iOS users who downloaded the game for free additionally purchased a paid continuation of the game Forgotten Shores.
According to the head of the ustwo studio, Dan Gray, the team is satisfied with the result. “But if you compare the numbers with the number of smartphone owners who might like the game, it’s not so much,” he notes.
