The Chinese corporation Tencent has scheduled the official release of its most successful mobile game — Honor of Kings — in the United States and Europe in September this year.
To promote the game to a Western audience, Tencent licensed Batman, Van Helsing and other famous pop culture characters for Honor of Kings as playable characters of its MOBA.
Also, the western version of Honor of Kings is renamed Strike of Kings.
Previously, the company presented various foreign versions of Honor of Kings. According to App Annie, the game has entered the top 10 most popular apps in Turkey in recent weeks. The title is also distributed in Thailand, South Korea and on Taiwan.
Reaching the international level will help compensate for the difficulties that Tencent has faced at home.
Recall that Honor of Kings was criticized in a government newspaper for the excessive enthusiasm of young people for this mobile game. After that, Tencent promised to introduce time limits for underage gamers.
In April of this year, Honor of Kings was recognized as the most profitable mobile title in the world — the game earned $441 million in a month, without leaving China.
