The MMO slasher For Honor of the French company Ubisoft lost 95% of the audience on Steam 4 months after the launch, according to the statistical service GitHyp.

The open beta test in early February of this year was accompanied by a stir, but after it, the popularity of For Honor, basically, only fell.

The peak attendance of 71 thousand players per hour was recorded during the open beta testing, which brought For Honor to the 3rd place in popularity on Steam.

Interest in the open beta test raised the game to the 1st place in the views of streams on Twitch, which were watched by 146 thousand viewers.

But after the release, the game lost 36% of the audience — the number of gamers in For Honor at the same time decreased to 45 thousand.

In the next 2 weeks, the title lost 62% of players.

On March 16, the Season 2 expansion was released with new heroes, maps and equipment. It briefly fueled the players’ interest in the battles, but the fall soon continued.

To date, about 3 thousand people play For Honor at the same time.

The departure of players from For Honor took place against the background of scandals — gamers complained about the unstable operation of servers, difficulties with match selection and high prices in game currency, encouraging users to buy game content for real money.

On March 29, the gaming community threatened the company with a boycott for inattention to their claims. The next day, Ubisoft increased the amount of game currency received for matches by 25%, returned a number of deleted cards and added 12 new costumes for the characters. However, the publisher claimed that the corrections were planned before the threat of a boycott.
