Responsible for the appearance of Crossy Road, Matt Hall and Andy Sum, teaming up with the authors of Breath of Light and Spellcaster, released a funny scrolling shooter Shooty Skies.
A small Australian studio Mighty Games has published a scrolling shooter made in the style of Crossy Road. The monetization of the game is also based on the same principle.
Interesting? In fact, until you find out the names of the developers, not really.
Mighty Games, which currently employs four people, does not have the most banal story. The studio was founded in 2013 by three Melburnians. By that time, each of them was already running their own small studio.
Matt Ditton made games in Many Monkeys, which could become famous only two years later by releasing the meditative puzzle Breath of Light.
Ben Britten ran Tin Man Games, which has now published more than 42 mobile interactive books.
Matt Hall, in turn, managed the Klicktock studio, one of the most famous projects of which is hidden Little Things.
Then, after the formation of Mighty Games, together with Andy Himself, Matt created the well-known Hipster Whale, which became famous for Crossy Road, and a month ago released together with Namco a similar PAC-MAN 256, which has already surpassed the 10 million downloads mark.
How the guys all came up with the idea to resurrect Mighty Games again (and add Andy Sama to the number of directors) – we do not know, but the first fruit of their cooperation was a project that today can safely be called a representative of the new Australian mobile wave, where we also count the stunning Land Sliders from the Prettygreat studio, which was previously received from Hipster Whale $380 thousand.
The project, by the way, turned out to be no less sticky than Crossy Road, however, when playing it, we recommend removing the sound, otherwise people around will start looking around in fright and looking for meowing cats.
You will be able to learn about the latest trends in the gaming industry first-hand, personally meet and discuss working issues with leading companies in the game development and publishing market at White Nights Moscow 2015, which will be held on October 13-14.
