Over the weekend, the first full-fledged Steam Deck reviews began to appear on the network. Many reviewers praise the device for its performance in AAA games, an open operating system, and sometimes call it a new word in the portable gaming market. One of the main advantages is the ability to easily emulate titles from old PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

Last week, the best-selling game on Steam predictably became Elden Ring. The bestseller chart includes all its editions and pre—orders – together they took four places at once, including the first three. The recently released Steam Deck also showed strong sales.

Valve has announced that Steam Deck devkits are ready to ship. The company started accepting applications from developers and clarified that the number of devkits is limited.

New Week — a new Steam bestseller chart. There are almost no titles left in the top ten best-selling games from last week, except Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. This game became the leader of the rating. Also among the bestsellers was the recently announced Steam Deck.

The announcement of the Steam Deck aroused considerable interest among gaming industry experts and ordinary users. At the same time, most of the reactions were positive. The Valve console is compared to the Nintendo Switch, memes are made about it, and they also talk about whether it will be able to find its audience and become a competitive solution in the market.

Yesterday, Valve announced its portable Steam Deck console. Its cheapest version will be $50 more expensive than the new Nintendo Switch OLED. However, Gabe Newell believes that this is still a “painfully” low price tag.
