Game designer Hideki Kamiya has announced his imminent departure from PlatinumGames. He will leave the company on October 12.

Square Enix and PlatinumGames announced that they will stop selling both the title itself and the in-game currency today. On September 29, Babylon’s Fall will end the second season, after which the final one will immediately start.

Almost four years after the release of NieR: Automata managed to overcome the milestone of 5 million copies sold. The statistics included both digital and disk sales of the title.

Developers Bayonetta and NieR: Automata from the Japanese studio PlatinumGames will no longer transfer intellectual rights to their projects to publishers. The studio does not want to depend on the customer’s requests during development.

The combined sales of digital and physical copies of the action with role-playing elements of Nier: Automata exceeded 2 million copies in six months since the release.
