The Chinese vendor ranked third in the global top manufacturers in terms of the number of deliveries of smart phones in the third quarter of this year. Finnish Nokia may drop out of the top by the new year. 

Strategy Analytics has published a report on the analysis of the smartphone market for the third quarter of this year. According to the data obtained, the combined supply of market-leading Apple and Samsung occupy more than half of the global smartphone market.

Global smartphone shipments for the second quarter of this year increased by 47% and reached 158.3 million devices (with China’s share of 27%). Moreover, according to the analytical agency Canalys, Android has only strengthened its leadership in this market.

It was the devices of these companies that accounted for 90% of revenue from the global smartphone market in the first quarter of this year. But Nokia’s performance continues to fall, and very, very rapidly. The number of shipments of its smartphones in the world decreased by 40% compared to the same period a year ago, equaling RIM’s shipments in terms of indicators.
