A new collection of apps called Games You Can Feel has appeared on Google Play. It presents games in which the player’s actions will be accompanied by vibrations of varying intensity.
The technology belongs to Immersion and is called TouchSense Engage. According to Immersion representatives, it can be easily integrated into the game using the appropriate SDK. Rovio has already used the development – in Angry Birds Friends for Android, you can feel with your fingertips how the next strengthening of green pigs is collapsing.
According to representatives of Immersion, the technology is not energy-intensive, and it will not put a battery on a mobile device.
So far, there are 15 apps in the Games You Can Feel category. Among them are the already mentioned Angry Birds Friends, as well as Ninja Hero Cats, Drag Racing, Solo Air guitar simulator and several others.
“Over the past few months, Immersion has been working closely with leading mobile developers, which has made it possible to customize tactile effects for each specific game,” said Jason Patton, one of the company’s executives.”
