At the end of June, Microsoft announced that it would add native support for Android apps to Windows 11. But it looks like they can also be launched on Xbox consoles.

This is the conclusion reached by the publication XDA Developers. Journalists noticed that the Windows Subsystem for Android application appeared in the Microsoft Store, which is needed for internal testing of Android support. The system requirements for it include not only Windows 11, but also Xbox One.

It is not clear whether this really means that Microsoft is preparing to introduce this innovation on consoles, but it is at least experimenting with platforms. The company itself has not yet commented on the information about the possible appearance of Android applications on Xbox.

Windows 11 will be released on October 5. At first, the new operating system will not support Android applications. Testing of this feature should take place in the “coming months”, and a full launch is expected in 2022.

Subsequently, it will be possible to download applications to a PC directly from the Microsoft Store, which will include the Amazon Appstore. This will be possible thanks to Intel Bridge technology, which converts Android applications into x86 instructions.
