After the sanctions measures, the Russian traffic of digital gaming platforms — primarily Steam and Epic Games Store — has significantly decreased. At the same time, the attendance of domestic services and torrent trackers has increased.
Since recently, users from Russia cannot pay for the purchase of games on most platforms. Game studios are massively refusing to sell their products in this region.
As a result, user activity decreased. They rushed to look for alternatives. So, according to Kommersant, traffic to torrent trackers in Russia increased by 40% in the second week of March (RuTracker is taken as an example).
At the same time, by the end of the month, the attendance exceeded the February figures by only 20%, which indicated a gradual outflow of users from torrents.
Instagram Facebook and Instagram blocked in the Russian Federation (both applications are recognized as extremist) decreased by 70% in favor of domestic solutions. For example, VK‘s attendance has increased to 95% in recent weeks.
