Microsoft has officially confirmed the “death” of the Windows Phone mobile platform and announced the termination of the development of new features for Windows 10 Mobile.
“We tried very hard to encourage application developers. We paid them money and even wrote applications for them, but the number of users of the platform was still insufficient, and most companies did not want to invest in Windows 10 Mobile,” Microsoft representative Joe Belfiore wrote on Twitter.
Despite the refusal to develop the system, Microsoft has promised to continue releasing patches and security updates for Windows 10 Mobile.
Along with this, the company will focus on developing new products and features for iOS and Android applications.
