The platform for the sale of game keys G2A responded to the claims of Gearbox Software.
Recall that the developer demanded that the store fulfill a number of obligations to protect the rights of sellers and buyers of G2A from fraud. Otherwise, Gearbox promised to break off cooperation with the platform, and eventually canceled the release of the Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition shooter on G2A on April 8.
G2A replied that most of the requirements have been implemented for a long time and are part of the store’s policy. The company explained that the service to protect customers from fraud “G2A Shield” (which Gearbox demanded to make free) only speeds up the refund process and gives users discounts. Any affected customer will receive compensation for free, regardless of the connected services.
G2A also insists that they sell only legal activation keys and does not require hidden payments from users.
G2A does not consider it appropriate to allow developers to delete from the store’s database those keys that they consider illegal. According to the service, this may lead to abuse. Nevertheless, the company is ready to cooperate and resolve any issues through dialogue.
“We are doing everything in our power to maintain the best possible relations with developers and ensure the highest standards in the fight against unscrupulous sellers,” G2A said in its appeal.
