Today Apple is launching iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 in the world release, and since yesterday developers have been able to submit iOS programs developed using Xcode 12 and the SDK of the new operating system for review. Very soon, such an approach will become the only possible option for a submit.
From April 2021, all applications submitted for publication in the App Store will have to be built on Xcode 12 and when using the iOS SDK 14.
Banning the use of older versions of packages is a common practice. But this time, developers don’t have much time to switch to new standards.
At the same time, Apple announced earlier that it would delay the introduction of new rules concerning data privacy. Initially, it was planned that from the moment of the release of iOS 14, all OS applications would be required to ask the user if he was ready to share data with third-party services. Now this rule will come into force only starting from January 2021.
