Amazon has introduced the cross-platform gaming service GameOn. It allows developers to embed competitive multiplayer into titles and assign both in-game and material prizes for winning virtual tournaments.

However, the latter option is currently available only in the USA. The winners receive real awards through the delivery service of the Amazon online store.

GameOn is built on Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure and runs on mobile devices, PCs and consoles. Its functionality allows you to keep a leader rating in the game, organize leagues and hold tournaments consisting of several rounds — both local and regional.

Developers can also allow gamers to create their own competitions and invite other players.

GameOn is already used by developers and publishers such as nWay, Game Insight, Eden Games and Mindstorm.

The use of the platform’s API will be free until May 2018. From May onwards, developers will be able to use GameOn for free for the first 35 thousand players on a monthly basis. After that, they will have to pay an additional $0.003 for each match held on the Amazon platform.
