Valve has updated the Steam Subscriber Agreement. It has relaxed the rules for dispute resolution between the store and its users.
What has changed:
- The requirement for mandatory arbitration has been removed. Now, dissatisfied users can, if necessary, go to court, but Valve recommends first trying to resolve the conflict through Steam Support;
- Sections related to the distribution of commission fees and arbitration expenses have been deleted from the agreement;
- The ban on filing class action lawsuits has been lifted.
Valve added that the changes related to arbitration will not affect all users. In some regions, there was already no mandatory arbitration, such as in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
