At GDC 2013, PocketGamer portal published its annual top 50 mobile game developers. As it turned out the other day, almost a quarter of the teams from this list work on Cocos2D-x.
This was stated yesterday by the head of engine support, Zhe Wang. He also mentioned that Cocos2D-x has been downloaded over 300,000 times to date. By the way, the release of the original Cocos2D took place in 2010.
The main market for the engine today is China. Seven out of ten cash games in the local App Store are developed specifically on Cocos2D-x. In the top ten Android games, according to the toolkit development team, all projects are created on it.
Well-known teams using Cocos2D-x include Disney Mobile, GREE, Konami, Zynga, Wooga, Gamevil and DeNA. If we talk about the projects that are developed on it, then these are Diamond Dash, City of Wonder, Zenonia 5 and Matching with Friends.
