This is stated in the analytical company's report summarizing the first three months of 2026.

Battlegrounds Mobile

According to calculations by Sensor Tower, in just January through March, mobile applications in India earned over $300 million from in-app purchases (IAP). This is a significant amount for the region. For comparison, a year ago at the same time, it was one-third less.

IAP revenue from games amounted to about $100 million, which is 15% more than the previous year. However, the majority of the money, analysts write, went to non-gaming projects — a record $200 million. Their IAP revenue increased by 44%.

In terms of downloads, non-gaming projects also led. Over three months, residents of India downloaded them 4.5 billion times, with AI applications and platforms for viewing mini-series and short dramas like FreeReels and Story TV being the most in-demand. Meanwhile, games accounted for 1.7 billion downloads.

Analysts also listed the top gaming hits in India for January-March 2026. The highest-grossing games in the country during the period were Free Fire, Battlegrounds Mobile (the local version of PUBG Mobile), and Coin Master, while the most downloaded were Ludo King, Free Fire, and Cricket League.
