The Hitbox Team studio will develop the first title for the interactive Twitch Extensions format, which allows viewers of the game broadcast on Twitch to interact with the stream.
Through Twitch Extensions, viewers can view the characteristics of items in the player’s inventory or vote for further actions of the streamer.
These functions will form the basis of the future game, called Galactic Disorders.
As told by Twitch employee Brian Albert (Briane Albert), in Galactic Disasters, players will have to extract resources, launch ships and destroy the opponent’s bases.
When a viewer enters a game stream, he is automatically assigned to one of two teams, whose participants will jointly determine through Twitch Extensions what decisions to make to win. So far, this feature only works on desktops.
Galactic Violations is being developed on the basis of the Vapour framework, which allows integrating augmented reality tools into game engines.
The independent studio Hitbox Team is known as the authors of the hardcore 2D platformer Dustforce.
