The Steam team shared the platform's statistics for 2023. It turned out that by some indicators it was a record.

- For the first time, more than 500 games in a year have grossed over $3 million each. For comparison, in 2018, half as many games had such annual revenues.
- During the fall sale of 2023, the games earned more than a year earlier. This time, 19% more games were able to earn over $500,000, and 21% more games were able to earn over $1 million.
- From December 20 to December 31, 2023, Steam users activated gift cards worth over $80 million.
- More than a quarter of the new products from the top of the best games were developed by the teams that first released the game on Steam.
- During the year, 11.8 million Steam users used the playtest function — 41% more than in 2022.
