The New York Times newspaper, citing four people, reports that Microsoft is preparing for a confrontation with the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). The corporation believes that the regulator may try to block the purchase of Activision Blizzard.
Sources of The New York Times claim that Microsoft is still hoping to convince the CMA, as well as the European Commission to approve the deal. If she succeeds, then the corporation will have a better chance of winning in court with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
The CMA must make a decision on the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard by March 1, 2023.
