Google Play Games Service (GPGS) plans to abandon Gifts, Requests and Quests in Google Play games by March 31, 2018.

Google has given developers one year to remove these elements from their projects. According to the company, gifts, requests and quests were used in GPGS less often than other tools. Google did not specify how many developers or games will be affected by this decision.

“The changes allow us to focus our efforts on ensuring that developers attach the greatest importance to the high quality and attractiveness of games,” Google said in a statement.

This is not the first limitation of the GPGS functionality. Last December, Google stopped supporting Native SDK integration with iOS, and the SDK for iOS lost support and updates.
