The head of Valve commented on Microsoft‘s promise to leave the Call of Duty series on Steam for 10 years if the deal with Activision Blizzard takes place. Gabe Newell stated that he was pleased with this offer and takes it as a compliment to Steam.

Newell said that he had already received a draft agreement on Call of Duty from Microsoft, but did not see the need to sign the papers. Firstly, he is not a supporter of agreements that force games to be published on Steam for many years. Secondly, Newell already trusts Microsoft.
