The creators of Remember Me and Life Is Strange are on the brink of closure.

Recently, the studio reported its financial results for the first half of 2026 and shared the overall situation they are facing.

▫️During the reporting period, they earned 6.1 million euros.

▫️This was not enough to cover all expenses. DON’T NOD faced a deficit of 4.3 million euros.

▫️Last year, the company was also in the red: 2 million euros in the first half of 2025 and 10.3 million in the second.

▫️At the end of July 2026, the company had 8 million euros left in its account. Considering the current funds and cash flow forecasts, its future beyond January 31, 2027, is uncertain.

▫️Continued operations depend on securing external financing.

▫️The company has previously implemented measures to increase efficiency, but they are now being adjusted.

▫️The first adjustment is abandoning parallel development. The studio will now work on only one game at a time.

▫️The second adjustment is the potential reduction of staff. The studio is considering laying off 90 employees. The exact current number of employees at DON’T NOD is unknown, but it likely means laying off about half the staff: in 2022, the studio employed 320 people and has since undergone reductions.
