In 2023, the Steam Deck will remain a niche device, but its sales will grow, Omdia predicts. According to analysts, Valve will sell 1.85 million portable PCs in a year — 14% more than in 2022.
By December 31, 2023, the total sales of Steam Deck, taking into account last year’s figures, will amount to 3.47 million devices.
Omdia called the “weak side” of Steam Deck limited retail presence. Officially, a portable PC can only be bought directly from Valve, while the Nintendo Switch is also sold from retailers. In addition, some hit games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and FIFA 23 are still unavailable on the Steam Deck.
