Google Corporation has summarized the initial results of the outgoing year and announced the best games in its app store for 2024.
Game of the Year
AFK Journey — a battler featuring gacha and idle mechanics, developed by the Chinese company Lilith Games. Google praised the game for its graphics, sound, a wide selection of characters, and combat system.

Best Game for Any Device
Clash of Clans — a hit from Supercell, which has survived more than 12 years since its release. Google commended the developers for continuously optimizing the game, making it possible to run Clash of Clans not only on a smartphone but also on a tablet, Chromebook, or PC via the desktop version of the Google Play Games service.
Best Multiplayer Game
Squad Busters — another game from Supercell, but significantly newer. Squad Busters was launched on May 29, 2024.
Best Game for Every Day
Eggy Party — a social party game from NetEase in the spirit of Fall Guys. Unlike the latter, Eggy Party features characters that are animated eggs. Recently, NetEase launched a program with a $10 million fund for users who create new maps in Eggy Party.
Best Indie Game
Yes, Your Grace — a pixel art strategy about managing a medieval kingdom. The story lets players assume the role of a king dealing with numerous responsibilities: handling the complaints of the kingdom's residents, making beneficial political alliances, and preparing for battles. The mobile version of Yes, Your Grace was published by Noodlecake.
Best Story
Solo Leveling: Arise — an action RPG with gacha elements by Netmarble, based on the eponymous manhwa. The game tells the story of hunters cleansing dungeons from monsters.
Best Game with Regular Updates
Honkai: Star Rail — a space RPG developed by the Chinese team miHoYo. Remember, last year it received the title of Game of the Year. details.
Best Game for the Whole Family
Tab Time World — an educational game for children. It includes several modes with mini-games: from coloring to creating personal music compositions. According to the developers from Kids at Play studio, their game teaches kids to express emotions and helps develop cognitive skills.
Best Game in Play Pass
Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance TD — the latest entry in the Tower Defense series by Uruguayan studio Ironhide Game. Google praised the new addition for its absence of ads and additional paid content.
Best Game for PC Version of Google Play Games
Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures — a new installment in the Cookie Run series, developed by the South Korean company Devsisters. Google particularly valued the game's full support for keyboard and mouse, as well as the synchronization between mobile and PC versions.
