Daniel Kaplan, who is responsible for business development at Mojang, announced yesterday that the number of copies of the mobile Minecraft – Pocket Edition sold exceeded 10 million.

The previous milestone (5 million) was taken in December last year.

Given the very high price of the application, this is really an impressive result. Since the release at the end of 2011, the $6.99 label for both the iOS and Android versions has not changed and the game remains among the most popular paid applications.

Note that at the moment, Minecraft – Pocket Edition is one of two titles appearing in the Top-50 highest-grossing games of the American App Store and does not provide for IAP.
