Today, the release of the Android version of the game “Evolution: Battle for Utopia” from My.com , a subsidiary company Mail.Ru Group.

Recall that the iOS version was launched on April 2, 2014. Even before the release, “Evolution” received the second prize of $10,000 at the WN Mobile Games Competition, which was held as part of the Winter Nights 2014 conference. Since its launch, “Evolution” has been named the best game in the App Store ratings in more than 135 countries, including Russia and the USA.

According to the developer, since the launch, Evolution has been installed almost 2 million times, and in the first week the number of installations reached 1800 per hour. The DAU of the game on iOS is now about 70 thousand people.

A year ago we already took a big interview with the general producer of IT Territory Alexander Enin, and now we offer a small update dedicated to the release. The questions were answered by Vasily Ryabov, brand manager of the gaming direction Mail.ru

It’s no secret that work on frituplein projects does not end, but, on the contrary, in many ways begins after the release. Has much been changed in the game since the launch of the iOS version?

There were no major changes in the gameplay itself. We just polish the mechanics, striving for perfection. The game has several new NPCs, new models of weapons and equipment. There were no major alterations, as we made major adjustments during the testing of the project before the launch.

Is there something that distinguishes the Android game from the iOS version, or are they identical? Do you think the audiences of these plafthorms differ from each other?

We did not seek to position the users of the platforms. On the contrary, our goal was to make a game in which users will feel equally comfortable regardless of the platform. Audiences, of course, are different. The Android audience is growing faster than iOS, its users are installing games more actively, but they use paid services less often. However, at the last moment there is a tendency to a gradual leveling of the situation.

Has PvP become cross-platform in the game now?

We decided not to do cross-platform PvP, as there are too many senior-level players in the iOS version, and it would be difficult for new Android users to compete with them.

What kind of analytics system do you use? What are its advantages?

MRGS is our own system, and it’s very convenient.

Can you share ARPU metrics?

On average, it is 3 times higher than that of the game “Juggernaut: Revenge of Sovering”.

How many people worked on the game during the creation process and which team is now?

The team was small: only 15 people, including 6 programmers and 7 design artists. The same number continue to work on the project now.

What are the plans for the development of the game for the coming year?

At the end of summer, a large-scale content update “Black Legion” will be released, which will bring another 4 weeks of gameplay to the game, as well as add new enemies, allies and additional mini-games.
