Saber Interactive, partially based in Russia, will join the Embracer Group. It will become the fifth operating group of the holding, formerly known as THQ Nordic AB.

This is reported in the press release of Embracer Group. The holding company will pay $150 million for this asset (including its shares) at the closing of the transaction. Saber will receive another $375 million if it reaches the agreed targets.

The company will continue to operate independently. In addition, Saber owners Andrey Iones and Matthew Karch will become the second largest shareholders of the holding if Saber Interactive achieves the set results within two years.

We have been eyeing Saber for a very long time because of its portfolio of high-quality projects. We were especially impressed by her achievements in terms of self-financing of games such as World War Z with sales of 3 million copies. Saber will work autonomously, and at this time we will help it develop the potential of a developer and publisher of the leading titles on the market.

Lars Vingefors

Founder of Embracer Group

Six Saber Interactive branches are located in Russia, Sweden, Belarus, Spain and Portugal. Their total staff is 600 people. The company has become the holding’s 18th acquisition in the last four years. Embracer Group also includes the groups THQ Nordic Gmbh, Coffee Stain and Koch Media (Deep Silver).
