One of the subgroups of the Embracer Group holding (formerly known as THQ Nordic AB) has opened a Swedish studio. The staff of the new developer is six people.

The studio is called River End Games. It is located in Gothenburg, the second largest city in Sweden after Stockholm. It is headed by Creative director Anders Hejdenberg with 15 years of experience in the industry. The second head of River End, senior programmer Karl Brostrom, previously worked at EA DICE and Ghost Games.

As reported by Gamesindustry.biz, the studio is already working on its first IP. The emphasis in it will be on narrative and “refined visual design”. The project has no release date yet.

River End is owned by the investment company Amplifier Game Invest. This is the new name of Goodbye Kansas Game Invest, which the holding acquired in August last year.

It is important to note that Amplifier Game Invest will fully finance the new studio. Whether it contains its developer Tarsier Studios in the same way is unknown.

Recall that the parent holding Embracer Group is massively buying up gaming assets. For example, he owns publishers THQ Nordic Gmbh, Coffee Stain and Koch Media (Deep Silver).
