The role-playing tactics of Phoenix Point by the author of the X-COM series Julian Gallop generates up to $100 thousand on pre-orders. This was told by the co-founder of the studio Snapshot Games David Kaye (David Kaye).

Pre-orders for the game opened in July last year. Prices for different editions of the title range from $30 to $250.

Kay believes that the interest in Phoenix Point is due not only to Gallop’s participation in the project, but also to the lack of sci-fi role-playing games on the market.

“This niche in the genre is not yet filled enough. But we don’t think it will always be like this, and therefore we don’t take success for granted,” David said.

Phoenix Point raised $776,000 on the Fig crowdfunding platform, exceeding the initial campaign goal of $500,000 by 55%.

The release of the game is scheduled for December this year.

Phoenix Point is positioned as the spiritual heir of the X-COM series, which Julian Gallop, together with his brother Nick, created in 1994.

Since 2005, the rights to the franchise belong to the publisher Take-Two Interactive, so officially the Gallop project has no direct relation to it.
