Remedy has shared the financial results of the first half of 2021. The company’s revenue reached €17.5 million largely due to the success of Control. The audience of the game exceeded 10 million people.

The main thing from the report:

  • Remedy’s half-year revenue increased by 3.3% compared to the same period in 2020;
  • at the same time, the company’s operating profit decreased by 0.2% to €3.15 million. Remedy explained the fall by increased staff costs. In six months, the company’s staff has grown from 275 to 293 people, and they began to receive higher premiums than in 2020;
  • Remedy has also been and continues to develop four new games at once: the Vanguard free-play multiplayer, the Condor cooperative PvE action, and two titles for Epic Games, one of which will be AAA-level;
  • a separate team is working on Crossfire shooters. Crossfire HD and CrossFireX are expected to be released later this year. Crossfire HD multiplayer has already been launched in China with the help of Smilegate and Tencent;
  • As for the current flagship of the Finnish company, on February 2, Control Ultimate Edition was released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. On July 27 (i.e., after the reporting period), the game was released for Google Stadia. In addition, Control participated in the sale in the Epic Games Store. At the moment, its audience has crossed the threshold of 10 million users;
  • by the end of 2021, Remedy hopes to increase both revenue and profit. The main growth should occur in the second half of the year.
