Finnish Remedy has signed a contract with 505 Games to develop and co-publish a multiplayer spin-off Control. For the production of the game, codenamed Condor, the companies laid a budget of € 25 million.

The costs of developing and marketing the title Remedy and 505 Games will be divided equally.
The same applies to Condor’s future revenue.
Condor is supposed to be a cooperative PvE action game for four players. It will be made on the Northlight engine, on which the original Control was created. The release is planned for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
“We are pleased to expand our cooperation with Remedy. Control is an extremely successful game that has earned over €70 million and sold 2 million copies,” said Rami and Raffi Galante, CEO of Digital Bros Group, the parent company of 505 Games. – “Being a multiplayer project Condor will be able to remain popular with gamers for a very long time. This means that 505 Games will be able to earn more on it than on traditional games.”
The game director of the Control franchise, Mikael Kasurinen, admitted that the idea of making the spin-off multiplayer may not appeal to everyone. Despite this, he is confident in the project.
“We understand that many will be skeptical about multiplayer. But I believe we can make a game without compromising either our DNA or the quality of the story we want to tell. Yes, we need to rethink a lot: our vision, our methods and our thinking. This is a challenge for us.”
Later, Remedy and 505 Games will be engaged in another, larger-budget game in the Control universe. The companies are not ready to share details about it yet.
