PUBG Mobile‘s revenue has reached $1.5 billion in less than two years. Moreover, the game earned 88% of the total amount in the outgoing year.
In 2019, players spent $1.3 billion in PUBG Mobile. This amount, according to Sensor Tower, also includes the revenue of Game for Peace, the Chinese version of battle royale. It was released in May of this year and since that time has earned $614 million in the Chinese App Store.
As previously reported, PUBG Mobile became the first battle royale to earn $1 billion. Other “royal battles” have not caught up with him yet. Knives Out‘s total revenue has now reached $915 million. Fortnite has earned $838 million since the release date (here analysts counted only revenue from the official App Store, since the game was not released on Google Play).
Money by region and stores
- China has become the key market. It accounted for over 40% of PUBG (Game for Peace) revenue.
- The USA is the second most important market. There, the game earned $ 293 million, that is, 20% of total revenue.
- Japan closes the top three. The revenue of the mobile PUBG in it is $ 117 million, which is 8% of the total revenue.
- The game earned more than $1 billion in the App Store. This is 72% of the total amount. The remaining $438 million is revenue from Google Play.
Note that the third quarter of 2019 brought PUBG Mobile record revenue. In July-September, users spent $495.6 million in it. PUBG Mobile’s earnings rates have grown significantly thanks to Game for Peace and the battle passes launched last year. Also, the author of the game, Tencent, recently updated the game’s development strategy, and this is clearly good for her.
Installations by region and store
Total downloads of the game in the world amounted to 555 million since launch. By country , they were distributed as follows:
- India became the leader with a result of 116 million installations. This is 21% of all total installations.
- China generated a little less — 108 million (App Store data only). Its share of the total number of downloads is 19%.
- In the USA, installations amounted to 42 million, that is, 8%.
- PUBG Mobile generated the main downloads on Google Play: 334 million (60% of all installations). In the App Store, the number of installations has reached about 220 million.
